BIOGRAPHY

Ana Regina obtained a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Antwerp in 2018. In 2016-2018 she followed an additional Honours College program. Currently she is doing her second year of master’s degree in Molecular and Cellular Biomedical Sciences, at the University of Antwerp. She will do her master thesis at Université Paris Descartes, under the supervision of Valérie Taly.

LABORATORY SKILLS

Immunochemistry/Biochemistry: ELISA, Bradford protein assay/Centrifugation, salt precipitation, salt exchange chromatography, SDS-PAGE, Western blot, gel electrophorese, fluorometry

Cell culture: Start with a primary cell culture, count cells, determine the viability and cytotoxic effect of DMSO on the cell line.

Molecular biology and genetics: Clone a plasmid vector chemo-competent bacterium, salt precipitation, spectrophotometry, agarose gel electrophorese, PCR-amplification, plasmid isolation.

Segregation analysis: gradient-PCR, Q-PCR and RFLP-PCR

Proteomics: protein extraction, chemical modification and cleaving of proteins, reverse phase chromatography, Edman degradation, affinity-chromatography, (ion mobility) mass spectrometry
